Storming Home & Ekraar Returning To Northern Hemisphere
Stoney Bridge announced that "due to the equine influenza outbreak in Australia" triple Gr1-winner Storming Home (Machiavellian-Try To Catch Me, by Shareef Dancer) & Gr1-winner Ekraar (Red Ransom-Sacahuista, by Raja Baba) "currently remain in the Eastern Creek quarantine facility in Sydney" & with their release "at this stage not scheduled until the end of October", it has been decided "they will not shuttle to NZ this season". Stoney Bridge's Mike Tololi summed up: "We put a lot of thought into this decision as both stallions had decent sized books. But due to the uncertainty of their release date from quarantine, we decided it was best not to bring them to Stoney Bridge this year. We also felt it was unfair to keep our clients in limbo, especially those with dry mares who were prepared to wait for the stallion's arrival." Tololi added the majority of mares booked to Ekraar & Storming Home have now been rebooked into the remaining 6 stallions standing at Stoney Bridge. Meanwhile Ekraar & Storming Home (who shuttle on behalf of Shadwell Stud & Darley respectively) "will now return to their Northern Hemisphere bases once they are released from Eastern Creek & will return to Stoney Bridge next season".
