Anabaa Owner Tells Widden To Vaccinate All Stallions

Tuesday, 18th September 2007

Meanwhile in the NSW Hunter Valley, shuttle stallion Anabaa (who in any other year would have been locked in quarantine with the other European-based shuttlers at Eastern Creek) is safely in residence at Widden Stud after spending his 1st Northern Hemisphere season in Kentucky in 2007. Widden's Antony Thompson noted: "It's turned out to be a real stroke of luck that he served in America this year instead of France. Given the lack of quality shuttle stallions now available, we are just so happy to have him with us for our clients." Anabaa (Danzig-Balbonella, by Gay Mecene) is owned by prominent European owner-breeder Alec Head & Thompson added: "I've discussed the situation with Alec & he cannot understand Australia's reluctance to vaccinate. He has called for Anabaa to be given a booster shot as he has previously been vaccinated for equine influenza. Alec's advice to Widden Stud is to vaccinate all of the stallions as soon as possible."
