Super Frolic Euthanased Aged 7

Thursday, 20th September 2007

US Gr2-winning 7YO stallion Super Frolic (Pine Bluff-Lindsay Frolic, by Mt Livermore) was euthanased "as a result of a catastrophic injury" sustained when he "shattered a front sesamoid" in last weekend's Presque Isle Downs Mile Stakes, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Kentucky-based Millennium Farms retired Super Frolic last November to stand him in 2007, but "when he did not attract a suitable number of mares, the farm placed him back in training". Super Frolic won 11 of 43 starts (including the 2005 Gr2 Hawthorne Gold Cup & 4 other stakes, plus placings in the 2006 Gr1 Hollywood Gold Cup Stakes & Gr1 Pacific Classic Stakes as well as 4th in the 2005 Gr1 Breeders' Cup Classic) & earned US$1,457,209.
