Beadman Heads To HK For 3 Months

Friday, 21st September 2007

Sydney's leading jockey Darren Beadman "has been lured to Hong Kong for a 3-months riding contract" while the equine influenza crisis stifles NSW racing. Beadman (who will ride for expatriate Australian-born trainer John Moore from October 1-December 15) told racenet.com.au: "I think I'm flying out on Monday. I want to get up there & settle in before I start race riding on October 1. It's a new challenge & the timing is perfect, with nobody knowing what the short-term future holds here." Beadman has won the Sydney jockey premiership 7 times (including a new record 164 metropolitan winners last season).
