Kentucky Yearlings Cumulative Median Up 9.1%
Day 12 marked the 10th straight session that Keeneland reported increases in both total receipts & average price. Geoffrey Russell, Keeneland director of sales Geoffrey Russell told thoroughbredtimes.com: "The fact we've had 10 straight days of increases shows the depth & quality of this catalogue. There is still a great mixture of buyers here from around the world, which proves Central Kentucky is the horse capital of the world & Keeneland is the place where the world comes to buy horses." Cumulatively over the initial 12 days at Keeneland 3,134 yearlings have now sold for US$377,157,900 (down 4.8% on last year's record 3,147 sold for US$396,116,800 to this point). The US$120,344 cumulative average is down 4.4% (last year US$125,871). However the cumulative median of US$60,000 is up 9.1% (last year US$55,000).
