Racing Vic Says 1,500 Vaccines Totally Inadequate

Tuesday, 25th September 2007

The Board of Racing Victoria formally confirmed it has "made an application to the Federal Government for 14,000 vaccinations for the thoroughbred horse population" in its state & declared bluntly in a statement that it "considers the allocation of 1,500 doses of the vaccine to be totally inappropriate & completely unacceptable to the Victorian thoroughbred racing industry. This is due to the practicality of first identifying the 1,500 horses to receive the initial doses & subsequently isolating those 1,500 from the balance of the horse population."
