UK Jockey Gibbons Fails 3rd Breath Test

Tuesday, 25th September 2007

Tuesday Odd Spot: UK jockey Graham Gibbons was stood down by Hamilton stewards & reported to the British Horseracing Authority "after failing a breath test for the 3rd time in little over a year," reported racingpost.co.uk. An official stewards' statement revealed Gibbons "had provided a breath sample found to contain alcohol in a concentration above the threshold level of breath samples under the rules of racing". Gibbons was previously stood down for a day at Ripon in July last year (when he failed a breath test for alcohol) & was also prevented from riding at Chester in May this year "when the course doctor deemed him unfit to ride".
