Law Firm Inundated With Class Action Enquiries

Wednesday, 26th September 2007

Attwood Marshall Lawyers senior partner Jeff Garrett (whose firm is preparing a legal class action on behalf of people & businesses affected by the equine influenza outbreak) told racenet.com.au: "We have had enquiries from equestrian photographers, produce store proprietors, stallion & broodmare owners, transport companies, racehorse owners & trainers, non-thoroughbred breeders & various associations of people who work in the industry. It's amazing the extent of the losses that everyone has suffered & will continue to suffer until this mess is sorted out. Everyone will probably have to wait until the outcome of the Federal Government inquiry, before any concrete steps can be taken. It's early days yet & people are still suffering losses as we speak. These losses probably won't crystallise until well into next year".
