Gr1-Winner Gold Edition Retired To Stud

Gr1-winning 4YO mare Gold Edition (Lion Hunter-Glimmers, by Success Express) returned from a 12-weeks spell to start favourite in the Gr1 Coolmore Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington, but after leading in the middle stages, she faded to finish 4th behind Apache Cat & pulled up lame after the race, convincing owners Kevin & Tanith O'Brien to announce her immediate retirement to stud. Tanith O'Brien told Virtual Form Guide: "The dilemma we have now is choosing a stallion for her. There isn't really anything in Australia for her, so we might have to send her overseas."
