1st Southern Winner For Freshman Elusive City
Monday, 25th February 2008
Gr1-winning NZ Haunui Farm shuttler & 2002 French Champion 2YO Elusive City (Elusive Quality-Star Of Paris, by Dayjur) recorded his 1st Southern Hemisphere winner when 2YO colt Aqaleem (Elusive City-Carmel Valley, by Last Tycoon) scored by 3.75-lengths over 1300m at Bendigo in Victoria for trainer David Hayes. Aqaleem (a NZ$150,000 yearling at the 2007 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka) is a half-brother to both Gr1 Ansett Australia Stakes winner Hill Of Grace & Gr2 Autumn Classic winner Renewable.
