1st Southern Winner For Freshman Grandera
Monday, 25th February 2008
Triple Gr1-winning Darley shuttler & former World Series Champion Grandera (Grand Lodge-Bordighera, by Alysheba) recorded his 1st Southern Hemisphere-bred winner when 2YO filly Grand Oscar (Grandera-Vainremer, by Vain) scored over 1000m at Ascot in Perth for trainer Trevor Andrews. Grand Oscar was a $40,000 yearling consigned by Yarradale Stud at the 2007 Magic Millions Perth Sale. Grandera shuttles between Darley Japan & Darley Stud at Aberdeen in the NSW Hunter Valley, where he covered his 4th book last spring at $8,800.
