Acorns Wins Meynink Stakes

Emirates Park Stud stallion & former Gr1 Doncaster Handicap winner Secret Savings (Seeking The Gold-Jurisdictional, by Damascus) added a juvenile black-type success when gelded son Acorns (Secret Savings-Shouq, by Danewin) scored a 2.5-lengths victory in the $100,000 Listed Meynink Stakes (1000m) for 2YO colts & geldings at Eagle Farm in Brisbane. Top-weighted favourite Acorns (ridden by Jason Taylor for trainer Bruce McLachlan) defeated the colts Jazz Heart (Show A Heart-Bluedanu, by Danzero) & Mr Orient (Orientate-Autumn Moments, by At Talaq). Acorns (a $62,000 yearling at the 2007 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale) now has 2 wins & a placing from 3 starts for $101,000 prize-money.
