Exalted Ego Wins Lord Reims Stakes

Kambula Stud stallion Blevic (Scenic-Blooms, by Biscay) added a black-type success when top-weighted 6YO gelding Exalted Ego (Blevic-Exalted Miss, by Keepers) scored a 3.75-lengths victory in the $125,000 Gr3 Lord Reims Stakes (2600m) at Morphettville in Adelaide. Exalted Ego (ridden by Michael Hoppo for trainer Jim Smith) defeated 4YO gelding Saddler's Story (Xaar-Mofajah, by Sadler's Wells) & favoured 5YO gelding Road To Athens (Redoute's Choice-Shannon Wood, by Woodman). Exalted Ego now has 11 wins (also including last month's Listed Birthday Cup over 1800m at Morphettville, plus 2007's Listed Cleanevent Stakes over 1600m & Listed City Of Adelaide Stakes over 1600m, as well as 2006's Listed John Lee Stakes over 1600m) & 14 placings (including January's Listed Classic Mile over 1600m at Morphetville, plus 2007's Listed O.J.Smith Challenge Stakes over 1800m & Listed Murray Bridge Gold Cup over 1600m, as well as 2006's Listed Schweppervessence Adelaide Stakes over 1600m & Listed Christmas Handicap over 1450m) from 52 starts for $531,620 earnings.
