Hurried Choice Wins Challenge Stakes

Monday, 3rd March 2008

Coolmore stallion Choisir (Danehill Dancer-Great Selection, by Lunchtime) added a group success when 3YO filly Hurried Choice (Choisir-Hustle Bustle, by Catrail) scored a 1-length victory against older rivals of both sexes in the $125,000 weight-for-age Gr2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Royal Randwick in Sydney. Hurried Choice (ridden by Jeff Lloyd for trainer David Payne) defeated 4YO gelding Keen Commander (Commands-Bonne Bouche, by Imperial Baron) & favoured 5YO gelding German Chocolate (Kenny's Best Pal-Carina, by Rory's Jester). Hurried Choice (a $150,000 yearling consigned by Bellerive Stud at the 2006 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast) now has 4 wins (also including 2006's Listed Gimcrack Stakes over 1000m at Randwick) & 2 runner-ups (including 2007's Gr2 Reisling Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill) from 9 starts for $337,050 earnings.
