Inglis Melb Yearlings Day-2: $490k Encosta De Lago Filly

Tuesday, 4th March 2008

Victorian agent Paul Guy from Heritage Bloodstock paid top price of $490,000 for a filly by Coolmore sire Encosta de Lago (the 7th foal out of 14-year-old Amen Brother mare Almighty Sister) during yesterday's 2nd session of the 4-day Inglis Premier Yearling Sale at Oaklands Junction in Melbourne. The filly was consigned by Sean Buckley's Ultra Thoroughbreds & Guy (who confirmed she will be trained in Sydney by Chris Waller) commented: "She's been bought for a group of existing clients. She's the most expensive yearling I've ever bought. She's an outstanding sort, by a proven Gr1 sire & with really good residual." Her dam Almighty Sister (a full-sister to 15-time-winner Richmond Boy) has 4 foals to race & all are winners: stakes-winner & 4-time-winner Mighty Raja; 7-time-winner & Gr3-placed Grace And Power; 4-time-winner Success Knight; & dual-winner Miss Akatone).
