Miss Finland To Start In Gr1 Australian Cup

Tuesday, 4th March 2008

Trainer David Hayes confirmed immediate retirement to stud for 5-time Gr1-winning 4YO mare Miss Finland (Redoute's Choice-Forest Pearl, by Woodman) has been delayed another week & she will start in Saturday's Gr1 Darley Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington in Melbourne. However she will have a change of jockey, with former rider Craig Williams regaining the mount from recent replacement Steven Arnold. Miss Finland finished a well-beaten 3rd as favourite in last weekend's Gr1 Futurity Stakes (1600m) at Caulfield & overall currently boasts 11 wins & 6 placings from 25 starts for $4,610,375 earnings. She was a $450,000 yearling consigned by Arrowfield Stud at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney.
