Tuesday, 4th March 2008
In Dubai, construction has started on the 1st & mezzanine floors of the Meydan Racecourse Grandstand, less than a year after the new racecourse development was revealed to the world. The Dubai Racing Club announced its "landmark horseracing city is moving at a furious pace ahead of the official opening for the Dubai World Cup in March 2010". When complete the grandstand "is expected to have a seating capacity of more than 60,000 people, making it one of the largest international horseracing venues in the world".
