Dubai Debut Tonight For NZ Star Seachange

In Dubai, Queenslander Dick Karreman's 7-time Gr1-winning 5YO mare & current NZ Horse-Of-The-Year Seachange (Cape Cross-Just Cruising, by Broad Reach) makes her eagerly-awaited debut at Nad Al Sheba tonight (for trainer Ralph Manning) when she contests the US$200,000 Jebel Hatta (1777m) as her lead-up to the US$5 million Gr1 Dubai Duty Free (over the same course & distance) on March 29. Last start Seachange won the NZ Gr1 Waikato Draught Sprint (1400m) at Te Rapa in Hamilton on February 9 to take her record to 14 wins (also including January's Gr1 Telegraph Handicap over 1200m at Trentham, plus both 2006 & 2007's Gr1 Stoney Bridge Stakes over 1600m, both 2006 & 2007's Gr1 Mudgway Partsworld Stakes over 1400m, 2007's Australian Gr3 Mannerism Stakes over 1400m & 2005's Gr1 NZ Bloodstock 1000 Guineas over 1600m) & 6 placings (including 2007's Gr1 Captain Cook Stakes over 1600m & Gr1 Telegraph Handicap over 1200m, plus Australia's Gr1 Futurity Stakes over 1600m, as well as both 2006's Gr1 Kelt Capital Stakes over 2040m & Australia's Gr1 Myer Classic over 1600m) from 24 starts.
