Friday, 7th March 2008

The final session of the Inglis Premier Sale saw 127 yearlings sold for $2,821,500 at an average $22,217 & a median $20,000. Overall for the 4 days of the sale, new records were set for all measures: gross, average, median & top price of $750,000 for a son of Exceed And Excel on Day-2) & Inglis managing director Mark Webster summed up: "The results this week are a ringing endorsement of the Victorian industry. We are very appreciative for the support we've received from the Victorian State Government, in particular the Deputy Premier Rob Hulls, for their commitment to racing & breeding in the state. We were hopeful of a good sale, but this has exceeded expectations. We are grateful for the unqualified support of so many vendors at the sale this year: good horses attract buyers & in this case we've had interest from all over the world."
