Goffs 2YOs: $230k Invincible Spirit Filly

Monday, 10th March 2008

In England, bloodstock agent Anthony Stroud (acting for The Searchers partnership, which includes British Horseracing Authority chairman Paul Roy, Andy Stewart, Martin Myers, Trevor Harris & Kevan Watts) out-bid fellow agent Dermot Farrington & paid top price of £105,000 (A$230,000) for a 2YO filly by former Chatswood Stud shuttler Invincible Spirit (out of Air Express mare Glamorous Air) at the 1-day Goffs 2YO Breeze-Up Sale at Kempton Park racecourse. The filly (already named Glamorous Spirit) was consigned from Bansha House Stables & Stroud told racingpost.co.uk: "She looked a very speedy filly & will be going to Jeremy Noseda (to train). We bought 4 last year at the breeze-ups & came up with 2 very nice ones & we'll try & do the same again this time around." The filly was previously bought for €50,000 (A$80,000) as a yearling in Rome by vendor Con Marnane.
