Mr Greeley Adds US Gr3

Monday, 10th March 2008

Former Victorian shuttler Mr Greeley (Gone West-Long Legend, by Reviewer) added a US group success when 6YO gelding Sir Greeley (Mr Greeley-Worry Not, by Concern) returned from a 3-months spell to score a 0.75-lengths victory in the US$106,000 Gr3 Toboggan Handicap (6 furlongs) at Aqueduct in New York. Sir Greeley (ridden by Eibar Coa for trainer Jimmy Jerkens) defeated front-running Man Of Danger (Tiger Ridge-Cope Lady, by Copelan) & Ravalo (Mutakddim-Momentary Hope, by Southern Halo). Sir Greeley (who won only 1 of 5 starts in 2007, but finished runner-up in 3 graded-stakes) took his overall record to 9 wins (including 2006's Gr3 Westchester Handicap, plus placings in both 2007's Gr3 Deputy Minister Handicap & 2006's Gr1 Carter Handicap) from 27 starts for US$594,251 earnings.
