Monday, 10th March 2008

Former shuttler & now permanently Australian-based Coolmore stallion Royal Academy (Nijinsky-Crimson Saint, by Crimson Satan) added a black-type success when gelded son Royal Discretion (Royal Academy-Discretion, by Canny Lad) returned from a 29-weeks spell to score a 1.5-lengths victory in the $100,000 Listed Darby Munro Quality (1200m) for 3YO colts & geldings at Rosehill. Royal Discretion (ridden by Nash Rawiller for trainer Gai Waterhouse) defeated fellow gelding Malambo (Choisir-Bomba, by Last Tycoon) & the colt Arlington (Red Ransom-Savannah Success, by Success Express). Royal Discretion (a $180,000 yearling at the 2006 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has 3 wins & a placing from 8 starts for $157,200 earnings.
