Single Rose Wins Tattersall's Classic

Deceased former shuttle sire & US Gr1 winner Irgun (Sunny's Halo-Late From Lunch, by Secretariat) added a black-type success when favoured 5YO mare Single Rose (Irgun-Waterford Fair, by Raise A Native) returned from a 7-months spell to snatch victory in a 3-way photo-finish to the $75,000 Listed Tattersall's Classic (1200m) for fillies & mares at Eagle Farm in Brisbane. Single Rose (ridden by Jim Byrne for trainer Shaun Dwyer) scored by a long-neck from 4YO mare Bareena (Filante-Marilla, by Palace Music) with a further long-head to fellow 4YO mare She's In The Guide (Mull Of Kintyre-Treasure Box, by Wild Harmony). Single Rose now has 5 wins & 5 placings (including 2006's Listed Dr John Power Handicap over 1200m at Eagle Farm) from 18 starts for $220,100 earnings.
