Delaware Adopts Steroids Ban

Friday, 14th March 2008

The Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission "has unanimously adopted rules that ban the use of anabolic & androgenic steroids in thoroughbreds," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. The ban "goes into effect on April 19" (opening day of live racing at Delaware Park). DTRC executive director John Wayne noted: "With all the information that has been available to the public about the use of anabolic steroids in major league baseball, football, the Olympics & other sports, professional & amateur, the time was long overdue for elimination of these substances from racing competition."
