Kingmambo Ready To Return To Stud Duty
In Kentucky, major sire Kingmambo (Mr Prospector-Miesque, by Nureyev) "who has previously missed breeding time because of a neurological problem" has again been out of action for a week with the recurring ailment, but is expected to return to the breeding shed this week" reported bloodhorse.com. Now 18-year-old Kingmambo (who has sired 73 stakes-winners) stands for US$250,000 at William Farish's Lane's End Farm & Farish confirmed: "It's the same thing that has happened to him off & on. We had X-rays taken to double check to make sure it wasn't something else that we didn't know about. He turned up fine. It will be up & down as the season progresses, but we feel he'll do well. His fertility remains excellent." Kingmambo (who is booked to 60 mares) covered 65 mares in each of the last 2 breeding seasons.
