Monday, 17th March 2008

Baerami Thoroughbreds sire Danasinga (Danehill-Princess Tracy, by Ahonoora) added a group success when 5YO gelding The Fuzz (Danasinga-Drama Queen, by Prince Of Praise) arrived late to snatch victory by a half-head in the $350,000 Gr2 Blamey Stakes (1600m) at Flemington in Melbourne. The Fuzz (ridden by Vlad Duric for trainer David Hayes) defeated front-running 4YO gelding Barlinnie (St Petersburg-Strangeways, by Veloso) & fellow 5YO gelding Orange County (Volksraad-Saffie, by Kaapstad). The Fuzz (sourced from New Zealand by Lindsay Park's Mark Pilkington in conjunction with bloodstock company First Tuesday Racing) now has 5 wins (also including 2007's Gr3 Geelong Cup over 2400m)) & 7 placings (including last start's Gr3 Carlyon Cup over 1400m at Caulfield on February 23, plus 2007's Gr3 Saab Quality over 2500m at Flemington, Listed The Bart Cummings over 2530m at Flemington & Listed D'Urban Quality Stakes over 1700m at Caulfield) from 18 starts for $516,916 earnings.
