Spectrum Brother Sets Gulfstream Track Record

On the US track, Irish Classic-winning sire Spectrum's 7YO full-brother Stream Of Gold (Rainbow Quest-River Dancer, by Irish River) set a new track record for 11 furlongs on turf (2min 10.87sec) in winning the US$150,000 Gr2 Mac Diarmida Handicap (for 4YOs & up) at Gulfstream Park in Florida. Zabeel Racing International's Irish-bred favoured gelding Stream Of Gold (ridden by Eddie Castro for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin) scored by a neck from fast-finishing True Cause (Storm Cat-Dearly, by Rahy) & Cougar Bay (Daylami-Delimara, by In The Wings). At his previous start Stream Of Gold finished 3rd in the Gr1 Gulfstream Park Turf Stakes (11 furlongs) on February 23; & after arriving in the US during 2007 he also finished 2nd in both last season's Gr1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational Stakes (12 furlongs on turf) at Belmont Park & Gr2 McKnight Handicap (12 furlongs on turf) at Calder. And in 2006 Stream Of Gold also finished 3rd in the UAE Listed President Cup (1400m on dirt) at Abu Dhabi. Overall he now has 4 wins from 19 starts for US$647,699 earnings.
