Florida 2YOs Day-1: US$550k Mr Greeley Filly

Thursday, 20th March 2008

Veteran Kentucky horseman Tom Gentry (acting on behalf of Irish trainer Jim Bolger) paid US$550,000 for a filly by former Victorian Mr Greeley (the 1st foal out of unraced Tale Of The Cat mare Bacardi Cat) consigned by Jerry Bailey Sales Agency. Bacardi Cat is a half-sister to Gr1-winner Jade Hunter & Gentry told thoroughbredtimes.com: "It's for a group of Bolger's clients. All the parts & pieces (of the filly) were in the right places. If you go by conformation, she's hard to fault. She's one of those fillies that caught my eye the first time I looked at her." Bolger has trained 2 star fillies by Mr Greeley: 2006 European champion 2YO filly & 2007 dual-classic winner Finsceal Beo & 2007 Irish Gr1 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Saoirse Abu.
