Ustinov Returns To Aust

Thursday, 20th March 2008

NZ Brighthill Farm announced that "due to his recent ill-health", owner Dennis Marks "has decided to take his stallion Ustinov (Seeking The Gold-Let's Elope, by Nassipour) back to Australia, in the belief the horse's future now lies there". Gr2-winner & multiple Gr1-placed Ustinov stood at Brighthill for NZ$8,000+GST last season & served 78 mares. His successful progeny include Australian Gr1-placed & Gr3-winner Antarctic Miss, plus promising filly Anna Bek (winner of 4 races in NZ before a stakes-placing in Melbourne 2 weeks ago). Brighthill owner Nick king commented: "We are very disappointed to see him go, despite our best efforts to retain the horse. We should all realise that his success so far & in the near future is due to the continued support of NZ breeders. With his weanlings & next season's foals still to come, we have much to look forward to, especially with his young staying horses starting to leave their mark."
