Augusta Proud Wins Magic Millions Classic

Tuesday, 25th March 2008

Meanwhile at yesterday's 10-event Magic Millions annual raceday on the Gold Coast track in Queensland, Vinery Stud shuttler More Than Ready (Southern Halo-Woodman's Girl, by Woodman) added a juvenile feature success when daughter Augusta Proud (More Than Ready-Kadasha, by Langfuhr) maintained her unbeaten record with victory by a head in the $1.5 million Magic Millions Classic (1200m) for 2YOs. Augusta Proud (ridden by Clare Lindop for trainer Leon Macdonald) led in an all-female trifecta against the males in defeating 2 other previously unbeaten fillies, favourite She's Meaner (Falvelon-She's A Meanie, by Prince Salieri) & High Rolln Woman (Noverre-Aspirant, by Native Aspen). Augusta Proud (passed-in for $47,500 as a yearling at the 2007 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale) now has 6 wins (also including last start's Magic Millions Adelaide 2YO Classic over 1200m at Morphettville on March 12, plus the Gr3 Marsh Breeders' Stakes over 1200m at Morphettville on March 1 & Listed Blue Sky Thoroughbreds Stakes over 1100m at Morphettville on February 9) from 6 starts for $1,453,003 earnings.
