Ginga Dude Wins Japan-NZ International Trophy

In New Zealand, Blue Gum Lodge sire Istidaad (Chief's Crown-Mazzei Mood, by Roberto) added a group success when 4YO gelding Ginga Dude (Istidaad-Clatitude, by Clay Hero) charged home late to grab a half-head victory in the NZ$150,000 Gr2 Japan-NZ International Trophy (1600m) at Tauranga. Bottom-weight Ginga Dude (ridden by Mark Sweeney for trainer Jim Pender) defeated fellow 4YO gelding Sterling Prince (Colombia-Sterling Princess, by One Pound Sterling) & 4YO mare Culminate (Elnadim-Solstice, by Marceau). Ginga Dude took his record to 5 wins & a runner-up from 10 starts.
