Tuesday, 25th March 2008

Byerley Stud stallion Nothin' Leica Dane (Danehill-Leica Pretender, by Sir Tristram) added a black-type success when favoured 4YO mare Hot Danish (Nothin' Leica Dane-Hit 'n' Breezy, by Zephyr Zip) made it 2 successive stakes victories in a fortnight since returning from a 47-weeks spell with a short-halfhead winning margin in the $100,000 Listed Wiggle Stakes (1400m) for mares 4YO & up at Randwick. Top-weighted Hot Danish (ridden by Tim Clark for trainer Les Bridge) defeated fellow 4YO mares Like Me Wild (Cape Cross-Hayley's Abby, by Clever Trick) & Hairy (Fuji Kiseki-Final Waltz, by Danehill). Hot Danish (a $32,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Scone Sale) now has 7 wins (also including last start's Listed Triscay Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill on March 8, plus 2007's Gr2 Woodlands Emancipation Stakes over 1400m at Randwick & Listed Keith Nolan Classic over 1600m at Kembla Grange) from just 8 starts for $379,380 earnings.
