Somethinaboutlaura Retired & Booked To Stormy Atlantic

In the US, the current star daughter of NZ Ashford Park Stud stallion Dance Floor (Star De Naskra-Dance Troupe, by Native Charger) "has been retired & booked to Hill n Dale Farms stallion Stormy Atlantic," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. California-bred 6YO mare Somethinaboutlaura (a US$375,000 purchase at the 2006 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale) boasts 14 stakes victories (including both the 2006 & 2007 editions of the Gr2 A Gleam Invitational Handicap at Hollywood Park) among 18 wins from 34 starts for US$1,129,365 earnings. During 2007 Somethinaboutlaura also won the Listed Pacific Heights Handicap, Listed Redondo Beach Stakes, Listed Work The Crowd Handicap, Listed B Thoughtful Stakes & Listed Foster City Handicap, as well as placing in the Listed Hillsborough Handicap. The previous season during 2006 Somethinaboutlaura won the Listed Autumn Leaves Handicap, Listed California Cup Matron Handicap, Listed Pacific Heights Handicap & Listed Foster City Handicap, as well as placing in the Gr2 Milady Breeders' Cup Handicap, Listed Kalookan Queen Handicap, Listed B Thoughtful Stakes, Listed Work The Crowd Handicap & Listed Irish O'Brien Stakes. And as a 3YO filly back in 2005 Somethinaboutlaura also won the Listed Palo Alto Handicap. This season Somethinaboutlaura won January's Listed Campanile Stakes on the Tapeta surface at Golden Gate Fields & finished 3rd in the Gr1 Santa Maria Handicap on Santa Anita Park's synthetic surface, before concluding her career with a runner-up in the Foster City Handicap on March 1 at Bay Meadows.
