South Australian Funding Increases

Thoroughbred Racing South Australia announced a series of funding changes as part of its on-going review of SA racing. Among them:
- From August 1, race-day payments will increase from: $1,500 to $5,000 per meeting for metropolitan meetings; from $1,000 to $2,000 per meeting for provincial & country TAB meetings; & from $500 to $1,000 per meeting for country/picnic (non-TAB) meetings.
- Training subsidies to the 10 most used venues will be increased by 2.5%.
- Prize-money on all races during the coming racing season will increase by $400 per race & an additional $500 for Cup races.
