Former Top US Trainer Slams Dutrow Drug Allegations
In the US, former leading New York trainer Gasper Moschera "has hit back at Big Brown's handler Rick Dutrow after Dutrow last week alleged drugs misuse by Moschera & several others," reported racingpost.co.uk. Dutrow (who has admitted using legal steroids) "pointed the finger at Moschera" (who won 6 consecutive training titles in New York from 1993-98 & retired in 2002). Moschera, 66, declared: "I never had a positive so I don't like the idea he's talking like that. I take that as an insult, him putting me in that category. That's one of the reasons I got out of the business, because they made Lasix legal & that opened the door for all the drugs. Ever since then, nothing was the same." Moschera added bluntly: "Dutrow? They shouldn't test his horses, they should test him. Here's a guy that God blessed him, gave him a talent & here he is throwing it out the window, talking negative about people. He should thank God & shut his mouth. He talks like a jerk. . . . He should watch The Godfather & he'll learn about what to say & what not to say. Just because you don't like someone, don't let them know it. Never let anybody outside the family know what you're thinking."
