Get Up Jude Owners Reject US Offers
The owners of up-and-coming stayer Get Up Jude (Res Judicata-Minsk Square, by Red Tony) have rejected US offers over $400,000 as their exciting 4YO gelding prepares for Saturday's Winter Cup at Rosehill as part of his progress towards a potential tilt at this year's Gr1 Melbourne Cup on November 4. Part-owner David Tregonning revealed the offers came from American connections of deceased sire Res Judicata (who covered 103 mares in 4 seasons at stud in Australian before his death in 2006). Get Up Jude has notched 5 wins (including victory at Randwick on June 14 followed by the Stayers Cup at Rosehill a week later) & 2 placings from 10 starts for $116,830 earnings. Importantly, the Stayers Cup success pushed him past the initial qualifying clauses for this year's Gr1 Caulfield & Gr1 Melbourne Cups.
