Filarmonia Wins Argentina Gr1 Estrellas Distaff
Haras Vacacion's multiple stakes-winning 4YO home-bred mare Filamonia (Slew Gin Fizz-Fijeza, by Pepenador) scored a 1-length victory in Argentina's Gr1 Gran Premio Estrellas Distaff (2000m) for fillies & mares at Palermo in Buenos Aires. Filarmonia (ridden by Pablo Falero for trainer Juan Udaondo) defeated front-running Arriba Baby (Roy-Allstar Baby, by Northern Baby) & Berry Creek (Luhuk-Wild Berry, by Southern Halo). Filarmonia (named Argentina's champion Older Mare at this year's Carlos Pellegrini Awards) also captured Argentina's Gr1 Gran Premio Criadores (2500m on dirt) at Palermo in May to win the inaugural Campeonato Palermo de Oro championship series for fillies & mares, as well as finishing 3rd in April's Gr1 Gran Premio Gilberto Lerena (2000m on dirt) at Palermo. In 2007 Filarmonia also won Argentina's Gr1 Gran Premio Copa de Plata-Roberto Vasquez Mansilla-Internacional (2000m on turf) at San Isidro, Gr2 Clasico Carlos Rodriguez (1600m on turf) at San Isidro & Gr3 Clasico Asociacion De Propietarios De Caballos de Carera (1400m on dirt) at Palermo, as well as finishing 3rd in both the Gr1 Gran Premio Gilberto Lerena (1600m on dirt) at Palermo & Gr3 Clasico Circulo De Propietarios De Caballerizas Sangre Pura De Carrera (1600m on dirt) at Palermo.
