La Soraya Wins Peru Gr1 Clasico Pamplona

Also in Peru, 2006-07 champion 3YO filly on turf La Soraya (Laubali-Miss Soraya, by Stack) "closed out her racing career with a repeat victory in the Gr1 Clasico Pamplona" (the only Gr1 turf race for fillies & mares on the Peruvian racing calendar) over 2000m at Monterrico, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. La Soraya (ridden by B.Padilla for trainer Claudia Rizo Patron) scored by 1-length from Kentucky-bred Bobe Bela (Bernstein-Title Holder, by Copelan) & Zayra (Privately Held-Tavarua, by Conte Di Savoya). La Soraya (bred by Haras Rancho Fatima, owner of both Pinecrest Stable in Florida & Rancho San Lujan in Argentina) took her record to 6 wins (plus 3rd in January's Gr2 Clasico Ciudad De Lima) from 25 starts. Earlier this year La Soraya finished 3rd in Peru's Gr2 Clasico Ciudad De Lima over 2000m; & in 2007 she not only won the Gr1 Clasico Pamplona, but also finsihed 3rd in the Listed Clasico Batalla De Ayacucho.
