Takeover Target Leads Global Sprint Challenge

Thursday, 3rd July 2008

Despite not having won a leg of the 2008 Global Sprint Challenge so far, Australia's multiple Gr1-winning veteran Takeover Target leads the points table after 3 legs of the series. The 8YO (2nd & 4th in last month's UK legs: the Gr1 King's Stand Stakes & Gr1 Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot) leads on 16 points from Apache Cat, Equiano & Kingsgate Native on 10. Takeover Target heads the series courtesy of a bonus which gives horses double points in legs of the series run outside their home jurisdiction. The next leg of the Global Sprint Challenge is the UK Gr1 July Cup at Newmarket on 11 July.
