Inglis Winter Sale Gross Tops $1 Million

Monday, 7th July 2008

Topping $1 million in trade, the Inglis Winter Thoroughbred Sale has finished with a better than 90% clearance rate. Online bidding played a large role, with 18% of horses attracting an online bid, and 5% of all horses purchased done so via online. Overall, 193 horses sold for $1,027,350, with a top price of $70,000 achieved twice throughout the day. The joint top-sellers were:

  • Grand Lodge mare Tiffin (out of Gr2-placed Discriminate, by Marauding) sold in foal to Zeditave, carrying a three-quarter relation to her stakes winning half-siblings Major and Happen.
  • 3YO filly Burleigh Sky (Hurricane Sky-Alkimiyah, by Chromite) who was initially passed through the ring. However the half-sister to this season's dual stakes winner Litter was later sold using William Inglis' Post Sale Service, where offers on passed-in horses can be made online and sent to an Inglis agent.
