Presious Passion Wins US Gr1 United Nations Stakes

Monday, 7th July 2008

There was a boilover in the US when front-running 5YO Presious Passion (Royal Anthem-Princesa's Passion, by Marquetry) held on to land his inaugural Gr1 victory in the US$750,000 Gr1 United Nations Stakes (11 furlongs on turf) at Monmouth Park in New Jersey. Defying all challengers under urgent riding from Eddie Castro for trainer Mary Hartmann, Presious Passion defeated Strike A Deal & Equitable. Short-priced favourite Champs Elysees failed to fire a shot. The victory secured Presious Passion a start in October's prestigious Gr1 Breeders' Cup Turf.
