Sea Battle Wins Winter Championship

Former Woodlands Stud & now Darley sire & 1990 Gr1 English Derby winner Quest For Fame (Rainbow Quest-Aryenne, by Green Dancer) added a stakes-winner when favoured 4YO entire Sea Battle (Quest For Fame-Peppie, by Danehill) won the $200,000 Listed Winter Championship (1600m) at Flemington in Melbourne. Ridden by Michael Rodd for trainer Mark Kavanagh, Sea Battle had just under a length to spare over 4YO gelding Rockpecker (Made Of Gold-Gaelic Waltz, by Celtic Swing)) & 5YO gelding Magnetic (Never Undercharge-Dance The Polka, by Voltage Peak). A $15,000 2YO at the 2005 Inglis Melbourne Horses In Training Sale, Sea Battle now has 6 wins & 6 placings from 21 starts for $307,520 earnings.
