Ellis Park To Reopen

Tuesday, 8th July 2008

In the US, Ellis Park officials and the Kentucky Horseman's Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA) struck a deal that will see the western Kentucky race track reopen on July 11, reported bloodhorse.com. While details of the deal were not immediately available, Ellis Park owner Ron Geary said: "This is a win-win for the horsemen and Ellis Park. You can't imagine my relief to have the track opening." The reopening of the track on July 11 occurs seven days after its initial planned reopening on July 4, with no plans as yet to make up the lost five days of racing.
