Montjeu Adds Italy Stakes Success

Wednesday, 9th July 2008

Dual-Derby winning Coolmore sire & former NZ Windsor Park shuttler Montjeu (Sadler's Wells-Floripedes, by Top Ville) added an Italian black-type success when 4YO mare Sopran Promo (Montjeu-Midle Prospect, by Mr Prospector) won the €61,600 (A$96,000) Listed Premio Del Giubileo Handicap (1600m) for fillies & mares aged 3 & up at San Siro. Ridden by Pierantonio Convertino for trainer Bruno Grizzetti, Sopran Promo put 2.5 lengths between herself and runner-up fellow 4YO mare White Snow (Orpen-Trop Chere, by Distinctly North), with 5YO mare Miles Gloriousus (Repriced-Treasure Coast, by Foolish Pleasure) finishing third. Sopran Promo is also the winner of the Listed Gran Premio Del Circo Massimo (2100m) for 4YOs & up at the Capannelle in Rome & the Listed Premio Emanuele Filiberto (2000m) at San Siro.
