Red Light For UK Jockey

Thursday, 10th July 2008

Former UK jockey Luke Fletcher will not have any relaxation to his 3-year disqualification. According to racingpost.co.uk, "Fletcher, who was warned off for his part in a corruption investigation centred on the betting exchange activities of bookmaker Ian Nicholl, and who has been working in a riding school, had asked for the relaxation so he could stay in the sport by riding work." However, UK officials were of the belief that his expression of regret for his misdemeanour was "limited", and the original penalty stands.
