Pocket Diary Wins Northland Breeders Stakes

Monday, 14th July 2008

Former Hollylodge Thoroughbreds shuttler & 2001 Japanese Horse-Of-The-Year Jungle Pocket (Tony Bin-Dance Charmer, by Nureyev) added a stakes success when 2YO colt Pocket Diary (Jungle Pocket-Dear Diary, by Desert Prince) stayed out of trouble to land the NZ$60,000 Listed Northland Breeders Stakes (1200m) for 2YOs at Ruakake. Ridden by Michael Coleman for trainer Graeme Rogerson, Pocket Diary got home a short margin in front of fellow colt Rough Odds (Stravinsky-Caramel Corn, by Our Maizcay) & filly Jasminka (Sakura Seeking-Stella Suprema, by Zeditave). A NZ$50,000 yearling at the 2007 NZ Bloodstock Select Sale at Karaka, Pocket Diary now has 2 wins & 1 placing from 5 starts for NZ$42,338 earnings. Jungle Pocket originally shuttled to NZ Rich Hill Stud until last year when EI forced his connections to stand him in Australia for the 2007 season.
