Monday, 21st July 2008

In France, former Coolmore & Yarraman Park shuttler Spectrum (Rainbow Quest-River Dancer, by Irish River) added a group success when front-running 5YO entire Racinger (Spectrum-Dibenoise, by Kendor) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in the €80,000 (A$136,000) Gr3 Prix Messidor (1600m) at Maisons-Laffitte. Last October Shadwell representative Angus Gold paid top price of €665,000 (A$1.130m) for Racinger (a half-brother to 2006 Gr1 Prix Ganay winner Corre Caminos) at the 1-day Arqana Arc Sale of horses-in-training in Paris, just hours after he finished 2nd in France's Gr2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein (1600m) at Longchamp; earlier in 2007 Racinger won both France's Gr2 Prix Du Muguet (1600m) at Saint-Cloud & Gr3 Prix Edmond Blanc (1600m) at Saint-Cloud.
