Tuesday, 22nd July 2008

Meanwhile in Sydney, work began yesterday to remove infrastructure from Randwick (following the weekend's 400,000 visitors for World Youth Day). Australian Jockey Club spokesman Richard Freedman told Radio 2KY that, when protective covers were lifted, the track was in good condition & on schedule for a September 6 return to racing. Freedman summed up: "It is a little stressed, but should recover quickly after being watered." Randwick trainers are expected to return from Warwick Farm after August 24.
