Triple US Gr1-Winner Tomisue's Delight Euthanased
Triple US Gr1-winning broodmare Tomisue's Delight (a full-sister to both US Horse-Of-The-Year Mineshaft & stakes-winning sire Rock Slide, as well as a half-sister to both stakes-winner Delta Music & stakes-winning Racetree shuttle sire Monashee Mountain) was euthanased "because of complications from colic surgery" aged 14, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Tomisue's Delite (A.P.Indy-Prospector's Delite, by Mr Prospector) was the 1st foal out of dual Gr1-winner & 2003 US Broodmare-Of-The-Year Prospector's Delite. On the track, Kentucky-bred Tomisue's Delight won the 1997 Gr1 Ruffian Handicap at Belmont Park & 1998 Gr1 Personal Ensign Handicap at Saratoga (plus 6 Gr1-placings). Her 1st foal (a filly by former Widden Stud shuttler Belong To Me) sold for US$2 million to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum in the 2002 Keeneland July select yearling sale. Her 3rd foal (a Storm Cat colt) sold for US$3.9 million in the 2005 Keeneland September yearling sale.
