US Sire Trippi Sold To South African Stud

In South Africa, Johann & Gaynor Rupert's L'Ormarins Stud has purchased 11-year-old US stallion Trippi (Florida's leading sire by progeny earnings in 2007) to stand the upcoming Southern Hemisphere season, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Trippi (End Sweep-Jealous Appeal, by Valid Appeal) recently completed his 7th season at Ocala Stud Farm, where he stood for US$12,500. Trippi has sired 145 winners from 213 starters (including graded stakes-winners Trippi's Storm & Miss Macy Sue plus 10 other stakes-winners) for US$10,871,171 progeny earnings (including US$4.1 million in 2007). On the track, Florida-bred Trippi won 7 of 14 starts (including the Gr1 Vosburgh Stakes & 4 other graded stakes in 2000) & earned US$666,220.
